Sundance in the summertime.
Most of my friends and family know this is my favorite place in Utah. If you've ever come to visit me, I've likely taken you there. It might be my favorite place in the world. Robert Redford doesn't know it, but we are soul mates, or we were, in another lifetime when we were the same age. His dream is my dreamy reality. I love him for creating this heaven, and for his movies: The Great Gatsby, The Way We Were (BEST EVER!), Indecent Proposal, ooooooh dreamiest man (second only to Chad of course)! Once, while driving through the parking lot I spotted his flaming red hair. That's been my only sighting of the Sundance Kid in all my years of sundancing.
All pictures in this post were swiped from various places on the internet. Someday I hope to be able to take such beautiful pictures. Is it okay to swipe 'em as long as it'll let ya? I feel so guilty.
The Tree Room. My favorite restaurant in the world. Chad and I celebrate our anniversary here every year. The perfect place to remember the day of our wedding that happened in the neighboring canyon down the road. It's cozy, casually elegant, surrounded by trees outside each huge window, and the divine food is made with creativity and love, it's clear. An experience that goes beyond taste buds, it's food and dining as art, surrounded by nature, and soooooo good for the soul.
This was the outdoor scene I enjoyed while we ate. There
was a string of golden lights hanging from the trees.
And amazing photos like this cover the walls in rustic,
vintage-style frames.
I love walking through here, every time. The hallway of old photos. There are pictures of Willie Nelson and John Denver that make me sooo happy.
The porch outside the deli. Amy and I sat in these
very chairs to enjoy our super yummy sandwiches
last time she was in town.
Summer in Sundance is a dream,
but I CAN'T WAIT for the fall.
Now that is pure magic.
What more could you ask of life?

I have got to go there-- so will you take me there when I come visit? I just remember the one night at Ricks that you were trying like crazy to get someone to take you to Sundance, because Brad Pitt was going to be there and you just KNEW that if you went you were going to marry him!!!! I remember that I would have gone, but I had a college rodeo and couldn't, but I can't remember if you got anyone to take you-- Tracy? Anyway, I want to go, so we'll plan on it, okay!!!
We might have to take my mom, too. Robert Redford is her FAVORITE!!!! She would absolutely love it--:)

That is SO funny about Brad Pitt! I forgot how obsessed I was with him. Ha ha ha! That's what Tracy was trying to remember. She said I was begging someone to go to Salt Lake at 3 in the morning. I was nutty!
Tracie left me a comment on my Ricks post! She saw what I wrote about her hair, but she didn't seem to mind. I wish she had a blog! I can't reach her because she posted from someone else's blog or something.
Loved this post Deann! Sundance is beautiful! I need to come up in the Fall and take the kids. Remember when we took the picture of us on the ski lift? Robert Redford is definitely dreamy. I want to rent all of his movies now!
OK!!!! My favorite movie is The Way We Were that he did with Barbra Streisand. It hits me in the gut and rips my heart out just like Splendor in the Grass. Oh, he was such a cutie pie. Still is...
Lucky you to eat in his restaurant. But lots of buckeroos! I love Sundance in the summer too. Actually I'll take Utah in the summer over the bitter winter but that's another story. You are definitely in your element Deann- My little flower child.

Ooh! Love the photos. My family has a cabin just up the road from Sundance so I grew up there. It too holds a place in my heart. However, Robert Redford came after my grandpa built his cabin so I was born with prejudices against the guy...but after reading your post I'll have to reconsider and let old grudges go.
