Veggie LOVE!

To market to market, to NOT buy a fat pig. Ha ha! I'm off to market to try this almost vegan diet for a week. I love finding new vegetarian recipes because it makes me feel like my options are endless. Meatless eating can be every bit as interesting, creative, and satisfying!

Ann Marie (one of my very favorite bloggers!) has guest-blogged a great essay about food! Here is her post that will give you a link to it. Please take a few minutes to read. A week-long menu with recipes and a grocery list accompanies inspiring advice about nutrition and food preparation. You just might be tempted to eat a little less meat, but don't think this is only for Vegans/Vegetarians! It'll make you feel like being more creative with your veggies this fall and make the most out of the farmers markets! Be healthy, eat beautiful food, and feel soooo good!

So I'm trying it. Who's with me? Anyone up for the challenge?

Sounds good. A lot of meat can't be good for you but I don't think I'll ever become a vegetarian. But since I only eat meat a few times a week I will try this out! I need some new recipes. Thanks!

Hey Ann! My neighbor and I had so much fun shopping together at the store tonight, and we're trying all of your recipes this week! I couldn't find coconut butter, but I could use reg. butter maybe? She made fun of me for getting the coconut oil (it was an investment!) so we're going to have a taste test b/c I told her it would be healthier AND taste better! So I'll let you know the results of our experiment. :)

Question: With the dairy (other than eggs) how do you know whether or not it's from happy cows? Is there something on the label, or do I need to do some research?

The recipes look sooo good. I can't wait...and that zucchini pasta. What a great idea!

so so glad you guys are doing this! the only way to know if you're getting your dairy from happy animals is usually to do some research. but some companies do label "grass fed" "free range" etc...BUT you still have to research because those terms can be used loosely, and "free range" doesn't necessarily mean what we think it does. So, ya, research!

Ok, thanks! Too bad it all has to be so hard! But the feeling of doing the right thing is worth it!

so Ann Marie, what I want to know is, if we both fall in love with this diet are you going to post another week's menu, recipe and shopping list? (again, looking to not do any work).
