I read this cute thing recently but don't remember where, so I will do my best to explain "the Buddha laugh" .
Sometimes we laugh when we are frustrated, making fun or laughing at the mishap of somebody, at jokes, and even out of cruelty or anger.
A Buddha laugh (named after the ever so jolly, joyful Buddha), is free of all negative thought or emotion. It is laughter in spite of oneself, at the pure joy of LIFE. When this laugh happens you feel nothing but peace and bliss in your heart, and it is often hard to stop it! It can make you cry.
Life should make us laugh like this often because really, isn't it hysterical?

I had a moment in the hospital after Elsie was born of uncontrollable laughter. It was probably lack of sleep and the drugs but Dan and I were flipping channels on the T.V. and we flipped past a channel with a woman pumping both breasts at once, it just took us by surprise and made me do the ugly laugh where you can not stop!! It hurt my incision from the c-section so bad but I just couldn't stop!!
That's it! How funny!
sadly, I can't remember mine. When was yours?
I'm going to have to make a post for my last buddha laugh b/c it's such a great story!
My last buddha laugh was when I was on the bus to the beach and this old woman in a bright yellow beach hat and bright pink sundress came on and smiled at everyone and gave her regards like she was the mayor of transit. I think I may have been the only one beaming back at her. She was just too cute. And when she got off the bus, she hopped off each step with both feet and then when she landed she kicked her heels. It was awesome.
I laughed out loud and thought, "She totally just made my day."
And THAT story made my day, Staci! AHAHAHAHAHA I was cracking up out loud! That is SO funny! I would do anything to have seen that myself.
